Observing the infinite

Posted on May 6th, 2008 by Domi333
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"..."With our thoughts we make the world"Buddha
Here's a new one, I'm adding: "In an infinite existence perceived contradictions are only complementary"(acknowledging my debt to philosophers who stated the same but in more or less words)
Then what is falsehood and what is truth? What is the past, present and the future?
Plotinus talked of the universe as in a state of flux, if everything just stayed the same it would die and change form...different constants add and subtract to make what the universe is...we are also in a state of flux, supposedly solid bodies aren't exactly solid, our bodies die.
What am I trying to prove here? that our statements on absolute were never really so...I think I've been inspired by Marmalade's talk of reality tunnels...
I may be moving into relativity here, but I can't go and say everybody's right...I'm only showing my own perspective on truthhood...

Openly considering multiple perspectives isn't relativism.  Personally, I call it curiosity… whether or not it killed the cat.  :)  It only becomes relativism if you lack the ability to rationally discern distinctions which doesn't seem to be one of your failings as far as I can tell.
